Editing in Baby Driver
In the first 336 seconds of Baby Driver there is over 220 shots consisting of different editing styles.
In the beginning of the film it is continuity editing showing a sequence of shots happening in order of the robbers getting out of the car and walking towards the bank, it then transitions to parallel editing showing the actions of the driver in sync with the diegetic music and the main characters robbing the bank.
Then when they get back into the car we see continuous editing paired with motion match cuts taking us through the car chase scene until eventually we go back to contiguous editing when we see helicopters above tracking the car and then the characters within it repeatedly showing us its in parallel. Then the rapid back and forth edits show us the pace of the film is very quick and shows the audience what to expect from this. Then we go back to the continuous sequence where the car escapes the police and gets away
